This spring, Mazak Corp. will host its inaugural DISCOVER MORE WITH MAZAK Phoenix Open House event from April 28 to 29 at the Mazak Phoenix Technical Center. The event will feature live cutting demonstrations on a wide range of advanced machining technology, including Swiss-type production turning, multi-tasking, 5-axis, and Kentucky-built vertical machining, and next-generation horizontal machining. Attendees will also meet with industry experts to discuss modern manufacturing’s latest innovations and insights.
“This new Technical Center will support all manufacturers in the greater Phoenix Valley area,” says Tony Harrod, regional manager of the Mazak Phoenix Technical Center. “Whether those customers are in the semiconductor, aerospace and defense, electric vehicle, or medical device industries, Mazak is well entrenched in every major industry in terms of experience and application knowhow.”
The recently opened technical center provides service and support for manufacturers throughout the Western United States. The technical center houses a call center, applications engineers, and sales and service support personnel. It also provides customer programming classes, machine demonstrations, test cuts and machining system run-offs.
Mazak will showcase the following technology at the event:
For high-volume production of small, precise parts, the SYNCREX 38/9Swiss-Type Turning Machine is built on Mazak’s High Damping Composite Casting (HDCC). The unique high-rigidity base provides greater vibration-damping characteristics, less thermal growth, longer tool life and greater part surface capabilities than cast-iron base machines.
The INTEGREX i-200H ST Multi-Tasking Center will demonstrate part-processing agility with the power of a full CNC turning center and the versatility of a full-function machining center.
The QUICK TURN 350MY will highlight part-processing versatility with its maximum machining diameter of 17" (431.8mm) and a maximum workpiece length of 81.09" (2,060mm) for the 80" bed length version of the machine. For automated operation, Mazak pairs the QUICK TURN 350MY with its Mazak Ez LOADER 30. The system uses a cobot with a 30kg load capacity, pendant timeline programming, and multiple pallet loading and unloading. Advanced vision technology allows shops to relocate and reposition the loader without having to realign the cobot to the machine.
The VARIAXIS C-600 5-axis machine offers four spindle options that allow shops to find the ideal balance of speed and power. In addition to the standard 12,000rpm CAT40 spindle, 15,000rpm, 18,000rpm, and 20,000rpm options are available in CAT 40, Big Plus, or HSK A-63 types. The featured HSK A-63 High Torque 15,000rpm spindle with a motor output of 46/37kW (40% ED/cont.) and a torque of 200/131Nm (40% ED/cont.) delivers an effective cost-to-performance ratio and is well-suited for machining nickel alloys, steel, cast iron, and aluminum.
The VC-Ez 26 Vertical Machining Center offers reliable machine-tool performance and lower capital investment with a 12,000rpm spindle and optional MAZATROL SmoothG CNC. The control allows for streamlined EIA/ISO G-code and conversational programming and includes machine simulation and 3D assist functions. The machine features Mazak’s “tool changeable” 60,000 pm UltraSpindle, controlled through standard program codes for rpm and tool changing. The UltraSpindle allows for the flexibility of finishing parts with small diameter cutters at high feedrates as well as for aggressive roughing with the standard spindle.
The HCN-4000 NEO high-speed, high-precision horizontal machining center is extremely customizable, starting with its standard 18,000rpm spindle for general machining. Optional spindles include a 15,000rpm spindle for heavy-duty machining of difficult-to-cut materials; a 20,000rpm spindle for small diameter tools and machining aluminum; and a high-speed 25,000rpm version for versatile performance and high efficiency. A standard 40-tool magazine keeps the machine supplied with tools during extended machining, and larger-capacity options are available, including 60, 80, 120 or 160-tool magazines or a Mazak TOOL HIVE with 240 or 348 tools.
DISCOVER MORE WITH MAZAK Midwest
Mazak will also highlight its extensive range of machine tool technology and automation during its two-day DISCOVER MORE WITH MAZAK Midwest event May 5 to 6 at the Mazak Midwest Technology Center in Schaumburg, Illinois.
Attendees will experience live cutting demonstrations on Mazak machines, along with automation and integrated technologies focused on increasing throughput, improving process consistency, and reducing setup time. The company will highlight its machine tool portfolio, including multi-tasking, full 5-axis machining, horizontal and vertical machining, CNC turning, Swiss-style production turning, and additive manufacturing (AM). Visitors will have the opportunity to meet with Mazak application engineers and industry specialists to discuss specific production challenges and implementation strategies.

Mazak’s multi-tasking technology will take center stage at the event with a lineup that includes the INTEGREX i-150, INTEGREX j-200S NEO, HQR-250MSY, QTE-200MSY, and QRX-50MSY.
Designed for shops machining small, square workpieces, the INTEGREX i-150 features a 6" chuck and compact footprint that helps maximize floor space while delivering efficient, high-precision performance.
The VARIAXIS i-700T full 5-axis machine is designed for multi-sided machining of complex 3D part surfaces. The machine features a turning capability that reduces setup time, shortens production lead times, and saves on fixtures and floorspace while minimizing stacked errors associated with multiple machine processing.
Shops focused on high-output production of small, precise parts will see Mazak’s SYNCREX Swiss-Type Production Turning machines in action, including the SYNCREX 38/9, 25/9X, and 12/8. The 9-axis SYNCREX 38/9, the largest in Mazak’s Swiss lineup, delivers full 5-axis contouring for complex geometries in a single setup, reducing cycle times while maintaining accuracy. The compact SYNCREX 25/9X provides 5-axis capability with flexible tooling configurations to support high-mix, tight-tolerance production.

Mazak will showcase its Kentucky-built Ez Series of milling and turning machines, including the VC-Ez 20X 5-axis, the VC-Ez 26, and VC-Ez 32 vertical machining centers and the QT-Ez 10MY CNC turning center with Multi-Tasking capability. Designed to help shops expand capacity and elevate production performance, the Ez Series combines compact footprints with streamlined programming and fast setup capability.
Mazak will also demonstrate its VC-500A/5X AM HWD HYBRID Multi-Tasking machine for manufacturers evaluating additive integration. The 5-axis platform combines additive and subtractive processing through Hot Wire Deposition (HWD) technology, which precisely melts and deposits metal wire onto a base material to build part features or near-net shapes. Components are then finish-machined to final dimensions on the same machine, reducing setups, material waste and overall lead times.
Every Mazak machine is backed by Mazak MPower Complete Customer Care, the industry’s most comprehensive machine support program. In addition, Mazak Capital Equipment Financing (MCEF) allows shops to easily move their manufacturing forward with one-stop, factory-direct financing on Mazak equipment.
