Medical Device Components LLC (MDC) announced its official rebranding as Lighteum Medical, following the divestment from Johnson Matthey as a stand-alone company and the successful acquisition of Lighteum LLC. This strategic evolution positions Lighteum Medical as a preeminent leader in precision components made from precious metals and nitinol materials, empowering MedTech advancements worldwide.

The unified brand, Lighteum Medical, reflects the seamless integration of MDC’s proven expertise in high-volume manufacturing of precious metal micromachined components and nitinol tubes and sheets with Lighteum LLC’s focus on rapid development and delivery of nitinol-based complex components. Known for their radiopacity, electrical conductivity, and superelastic properties, these unique metals enable transformative applications in minimally invasive medical devices for electrophysiology, vascular intervention, and neurovascular therapies. The new identity underscores a commitment to rapid customer response, cutting-edge technology, and technical prowess in fabricating highly complex medical components.

Lighteum Medical’s product portfolio includes platinum group metal (PGM) alloys, custom engineered PGM components, nitinol sheets and tubes, as well as high-complexity nitinol components processed through advanced techniques like femtosecond laser cutting, shapesetting, and electropolishing. These offerings support minimally invasive medical devices used in high-growth clinical specialties, helping to improve patient outcomes around the world.
