LENSAR banks on CIM med carrier arms

Cataract laser specialist uses innovative monitor mounts.

Munich, Germany – LENSAR has equipped its latest generation femtosecond cataract laser system with high-quality medtech carrier arms supplied by the German manufacturer CIM med®. The LENSAR laser system is used to treat cataracts and manage astigmatism. The CIM med solutions provide support for monitors that give surgeons a full overview of their operations. Flowing ergonomics requiring minimum effort to attain perfect positioning offer flexibility with a full range of movements for ultimate viewing angles. The mounts feature integrated cable management creating the highest hygienic and aesthetic environment whilst preventing cable damage.

LENSAR is revolutionizing refractive cataract surgery with its innovative Streamline platform. Thanks to surgery, the eye's own lens can be replaced by an artificial one when it has become clouded. The LENSAR laser allows the doctor to perform this operation without using a scalpel. This method is not only more gentle, it is also simpler and potentially safer. For surgeons it becomes more important to handle and work with their monitors easily. CIM med carrier arms contribute to these demands. All products allow ergonomic settings and support to produce even more precise results from the surgery and lowering the risk of post-operative complications.

"For us, the collaboration with LENSAR represents an important introduction to the American market," says Manuela Deverill, business manager of CIM med. "As a leading provider of femtosecond cataract laser systems, LENSAR offers eye surgeons innovative solutions. So we are proud to contribute to this with our innovative mounting systems for medical technology.“

"Partnering with CIM med on some important assemblies supports our objective to offer state of the art user experiences to our customers, freeing our team to focus on continued innovation,“ says Alan Connaughton, VP operations at LENSAR.

CIM med carrier arms for medical devices have become standard in many areas. Leading manufacturers and medical facilities use these solutions to connect monitors and data systems to ceiling mounts and wall tracks, as well as for mobile systems, trolleys, and anesthesia units. Mounts by CIM med are found in a wide range of well-known institutions, including the hospital at Duke University, USA, the Royal London Hospital, the Kitasato University Clinic in Tokyo and the Klinikum rechts der Isar in Munich. They ensure ergonomical, clean, and safe conditions in operating suites and patient rooms.
