Dr. Christian Lang has been appointed President Industrial Equipment for MAG, the machine tool and systems manufacturer. In addition to his responsibilities as board member of MAG IAS GmbH, he will be part of the group’s global leadership team, leading its activities involving metal cutting technologies for industrial manufacturing.
MAG’s family of machine tools includes numerous well-known brands, such as Cincinnati, Cross Hüller, Fadal, Giddings & Lewis, Hüller Hille, Witzig & Frank, Hessapp, Ex-Cell-O, Honsberg, and Boehringer, The range of OEM markets include aerospace, automotive and truck, heavy equipment, oil and gas, rail, solar energy, wind turbine production, and general machining.
Dr. Lang began his career in 1987 at Germany’s Institute for Machine Tools and Industrial Management, at the Technical University of Munich in 1987. Upon graduation he held several senior management positions with machine tool manufacturers. In 1997, he joined Deckel Maho Pfronten GmbH as vice president- Sales. In 2004 assumed the role of executive vice president - Sales and Marketing with the same company.
In June 2010 Lang was named by MAG as its managing director for sales - Europe and Asia. Now, that role will be assumed by Alexander Attenberger.

He continued: “In 2011, we will present an unprecedented amount of new developments and innovative products. We will introduce new 5-axis and multi tasking solutions to cover even further areas, such as die and mold applications."
