3M Health Care announced the launch of 3M™ Tegaderm™ I.V. Advanced Securement Dressing for patients, a comprehensive solution with transparent, breathable film, a stabilization border and new, comfort adhesive technology. The new dressing is perceived by clinicians to reduce catheter manipulation and resist staining which could lead to less frequent dressing changes, and may provide a cost savings option for hospitals.
"Through the addition of Tegaderm IV Advanced Securement Dressing to our portfolio of innovative skin and wound solutions, we continue to bring clinicians products that are simple, trusted and clinically effective."
"We heard from clinicians that they want a dressing that secures and stabilizes, while preserving skin integrity," said Jacob Haas, 3M IV Site marketer. "Using proven 3M adhesive technology, the Tegaderm I.V. Advanced Securement Dressing combines strength and gentleness to offer an exceptional alternative to currently available securement technology."
Additionally, the Tegaderm dressing offers innovative moisture management that preserves skin integrity on moist skin or in warm environments during wear. The dressing also features a special coating allowing for the removal of the stabilization tape strips to access the catheter hub without removing the dressing. The dressing removes gently, without alcohol or other chemicals, thus minimizing trauma to the catheter site.
"For more than 28 years, clinicians have relied on the dependability of 3M Tegaderm brand skin care solutions to help them care for their patients," said Paul Keel, president of 3M Skin & Wound Care Division. "Through the addition of Tegaderm IV Advanced Securement Dressing to our portfolio of innovative skin and wound solutions, we continue to bring clinicians products that are simple, trusted and clinically effective."
