Cimatron and Microlution Team Up

Cimatron Technologies Inc.,  a leading provider of integrated CAD/CAM solutions for mold, tool and die makers as well as manufacturers of discrete parts, has signed a partnership and distribution agreement with Microlution Inc., a machine tool manufacturer specializing in building high performance CNC machine tools optimized for small high-precision parts.

Under the agreement, Microlution will offer the Cimatron software to users of the company’s micro-machine tools. Also as part of the agreement, Cimatron has developed post processors for the Microlution machines.

Cimatron Micro-Milling Software
The Cimatron Micro-Milling solution enables efficient milling of jobs using very small tools (cutting tools as small as 1 micron (.000039”)) and working at very tight tolerances-- as tight as 0.0001 mm. Featuring exceptionally precise calculation of remaining stock that is accurate enough for micro-scale parts, the software enables the creation of safe and highly efficient micro-machining toolpaths supporting spindle speeds of up to 500,000 RPM, while producing superb surface quality. In addition, the Cimatron software enables toolmakers and manufacturers to take full advantage of 5-axis capabilities to machine complex parts in the micro-milling environment.

Microlution Micro-Manufacturing Machine Tools
Microlution’s innovative machine tools are designed to address the specific requirements of micro/meso-scale manufacturing and the shortcomings of traditional machine tools currently used for such processes. Utilized to fabricate small, high-precision parts from a wide range of materials ranging from plastics to metals, glass, and ceramics, the Microlution CNC micro-machining centers have proven to provide a cost-effective solution for prototyping as well as high volume applications.

Specialization: the Key to Manufacturing Gains
