Pritzker Group Acquires Medical Device Manufacturer

Clinical Innovations Medical Device Maker Acquired

Chicago-based private investment firm The Pritzker Group announced today it has acquired Clinical Innovations, a medical device maker specializing in healthcare solutions for women and their infants. The acquisition is the firm's first in the healthcare field.

The Pritzker Group acquired the Utah-based medical device maker from RoundTable Healthcare Partners, a private equity firm focused exclusively on the healthcare industry.

Clinical Innovations develops, manufactures and markets state-of-the-art medical devices that improve healthcare outcomes for clinicians and their patients worldwide. With particular emphasis on healthcare solutions for women and their infants, Clinical Innovations employs high quality standards in every aspect of business to make advancements in technology and bring innovative ideas to life.

Terms of the acquisition, completed December 10, were not disclosed.

“Clinical Innovations represents an exciting opportunity for The Pritzker Group,” said Tony Pritzker, Los Angeles-based Managing Partner of the firm. “We are looking forward to partnering with the management team and employees of Clinical Innovations as they expand on their successful track record of developing products and healthcare solutions for women and their infants.”

Tony Pritzker will serve as Clinical Innovations' new Chairman and J.B. Pritzker will also serve on the company's board. Mark King will continue to serve in his current role as CEO.

“We're truly excited about working with The Pritzker Group and look forward to the opportunities this partnership will afford us to grow our company,” said King. “Clinical Innovations remains committed to developing state-of-the-art products to meet the needs of clinicians in the women's health sector.”

Since its inception in 1993, Clinical Innovations has consistently expanded its worldwide presence, becoming the market leader in several product categories -- especially those that have become delivery room staples for assisting in difficult births.

The company's growth has provided the resources to reinvest in research and development of new products where innovation makes the difference. And with a management team containing more than 100 years of experience in the medical device industry, Clinical Innovations possesses the working knowledge to continue developing new product ideas and industry-changing specialty devices.
