M2D2 Medical Device Incubator at UMass Lowell

Medical device development center officially opens doors following a $4M renovation.

The University of Massachusetts-Lowell will officially open the doors to its Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (M2D2), after completing a $4 million renovation.

The project transformed 16,000 square feet of a former mill building into a high-tech startup space featuring wet laboratories, office and meeting space for emerging medical device companies.

"By providing access to the expertise and equipment needed by companies to fund, design, prototype and test their candidate medical devices, the M2D2 builds and strengthens medical device development and manufacturing activities in the state," MassMEDIC president Thomas Sommer said in prepared remarks. http://www.uml.edu/M2D2/
