Helical Products joined forces with TraceParts back in 2009, creating 3D CAD Models of the standard flexible shaft couplings. Now, the company’s website (www.heli-cal.com) features direct links to view and download these informative 3D models.
When accessing the relevant charts of a particular series, a column appears citing the specific link to the TraceParts illustration. To access these models, visit: http://heli-cal.com/cm/Products/Flexible-Couplings/Home.html. When browsing through the different series charts, the corresponding CAD Model link will appear for each Helical coupling and the model can be previewed and downloaded directly from the TraceParts website.
Helical was founded in 1958 and its primary market was the military, which provided a base to branch out into various commercial applications. Today, Helical manufactures machined springs, flexible couplings, and u-joints. Used as a machined spring, the curved beam provides controlled elastic performance in compression, torsion, lateral bending and lateral displacement modes. When used as a coupling or u-joint, the HELI-CAL® Flexure employs a curved beam to transmit torque while compensating for lateral, axial and angular misalignments. A variety of materials can be used, including aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and plastics.
