PolyOne Corporation announced that PolyOne GLS Thermoplastic Elastomers has been chosen by ExxonMobil Chemical Company to be its primary marketing specialist for thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) medical products made using ExxonMobil Chemical's Santoprene™ TPV.
Under the global agreement, GLS will use Santoprene TPV medical grades to make custom compounded formulations marketed under the GLS brand. In addition, the agreement also names PolyOne Distribution as an authorized distributor in North America and PolyOne GLS Thermoplastic Elastomers as an authorized distributor in Europe for unmodified Santoprene TPV medical grades, which are used in applications that do not require custom formulations.
Walter Ripple, general manager, PolyOne GLS Thermoplastic Elastomers, commented, "We are extremely pleased to have a product and brand as well-respected as Santoprene TPV in our healthcare product portfolio. We look forward to marketing Santoprene TPV and Santoprene TPV-based compounds to this key growth industry."
