Medtech Switzerland, the new export platform of the Swiss Government supporting more than 1400 medical technology companies, is hosting 13 firms at the Swiss Pavilion 2831/2930 in Hall C during MD&M West, February 8-10, 2011, reports Frank Ustar, Trade Commissioner for Switzerland Trade and Investment Promotion.

“Switzerland has the highest per capita concentration of medical technology companies anywhere in the world, 90% of which are active in foreign markets,” Ustar says. “Moreover, 16% of all Swiss patent applications involve medical technology compared to only 6% world-wide.”
Above-average investment in R&D, short innovation cycles, strong international orientation with a highly educated workforce drawing on international talent as the foundation are major contributors to the success and further growth of the Swiss bio-medical sector.
