Columbia, Tennessee – Hunter Medical Inc. officials announce the launch of The ElbowLOC arm positioning system, a surgical assist device that improves operating room time by an average of 20 minutes per elbow procedure.
After more than 500 surgical procedures in academic and private practice settings, the innovative ElbowLOC has repeatedly demonstrated that shortened procedural and anesthetic times yield improvements in clinical outcomes and physician satisfaction – while, at the same time, significantly decreasing overall costs. Specifically, using this new device:
- Lessens the need for additional operating room staff
- Eliminates the need for cumbersome intraoperative traction devices
- Allows for quicker arm positioning/preparation
- Simplifies patent positioning while enhancing humeral stability
- Offers the surgeon unlimited access to and control of the elbow joint
- Is easy to use, clean and maintain
“Developed to fill the void in elbow surgery devices, ElbowLOC is the only commercially available arm positioning system marketed exclusively for supine and lateral decubitus elbow procedures,” says Founder and Chairman of Hunter Medical Inc. Dr. Lee Hunter. “In addition to providing a more stable platform for routine surgeries, the ElbowLOC also offers surgeons better access to parts of the joint that previously were inoperable, which is a win-win for all interested parties - patients, physicians, and facilities.”
