AirStrip Device Earns Accolades

Baby Monitoring Device Recognized by The Premier Healthcare Alliance

AirStrip Technologies’ baby-monitoring device was recognized by The Premier Healthcare Alliance recognized during its Innovation Celebration this week.

Premier highlighted 23 medical innovations on June 8 at the 2010 Premier Annual Breakthroughs Conference and Exhibition in Washington, D.C. These medical innovations were on display before more than 3,000 health care providers and experts.

San Antonio, TX-based AirStrip developed AirStrip OB, an FDA-approved device that uses proprietary technology to capture fetal waveform data and deliver it to smartphone devices. The technology allows attending physicians to remotely monitor mothers as they prepare for labor at the hospital.

“We take great pride in our role as leaders in establishing a new standard of care in remote patient monitoring through mobility,” says AirStrip Technologies president and Chief Medical Officer Cameron Powell. “AirStrip is honored to receive this prestigious recognition from the Premier Healthcare Alliance.”

Premier assembled a committee of clinicians and other hospital members to identify the 23 medical innovations based on their ability to positively impact the health care industry. In all, Premier contracts with more than 800 suppliers.

“Healthcare providers need to be up to date on latest concepts and developments regarding new devices, products and therapies which can impact the cost and quality of care,” says Premier’s purchasing partners President, Mike Alkire.
