Technical and Process Analysis Package

B&H Tool, a manufacturer of precision extrusion tooling for cable, hose, pipe and profiles, has introduced a comprehensive Technical and Process Analysis Package for extruders of thermoplastics and fluoropolymers. 

This engineering service package is designed to quickly and efficiently identify the causes of difficulties related to five issues:  equipment surging, dimensional variation, plastic material degradation, and appearance problems.  It is offered throughout North America, and is individually tailored to the needs of individual extruders.   

The B&H Technical and Process Analysis Package includes a detailed evaluation of operations, material handling up and downstream of the extrusion operation, the extruding equipment, screw geometry, dies, packaging and all process metrics.  Particular attention is given to temperature profiles at critical junctures and how they affect both equipment and material performance, short and long-term.

The B&H Technical and Process Analysis Package was originally developed for multi-plant extruders who wanted a highly repeatable system for permanently improving end product quality, increasing process stability, and reducing scrap and downtime. 

Two important parts of the new package include the detailed simulation of a proposed process change before it is implemented, and the modeling of a process that is being planned, in order to ensure it will behave as engineered.
