Micro Waterjet has delivered the first fully enclosed microwaterjet® precision waterjet machining system to Synthes, Switzerland.
“This system, designated the microwaterjet® F4, is the next generation of machines and is available with a total enclosure.” states Walter Siegenthaler, executive vice president, Micro Waterjet LLC. “In addition to the enclosure, the delivered system also features a polymer concrete base which ensures platform rigidity to maintain the ±3 micron positioning accuracy necessary for the continuous production of precision parts.”
Synthes is a world leading developer and producer of medical products including instruments, implants and biomaterials for the surgical fixation, correction and regeneration of the skeleton and its soft tissues. Synthes has its North American Headquarters in West Chester, PA.
microwaterjet® performs ultra high precision waterjet cutting down to +/-0.0005”. Expect surface quality up to N6 for titanium or alloys without negative effects of process forces and thermal stress. Decrease scrap rates and deburring while producing biocompatible, precision parts with tolerances ±0.01 mm, depending on material and thickness.
Micro Waterjet, LLC was formed through a joint venture between Waterjet AG and Max Daetwyler Corporation to bring micro manufacturing services for advanced abrasive waterjet technologies to North America. We serve a broad range of markets including aerospace, automotive, electrical/electronic, machine shops, jewelry, medical, motorsports, research labs, and many other specialty applications.
