Supporting America's Skilled Workforce at the Annual 2011 SkillsUSA National Championships

Sandvik Coromant is pleased to announce its support for America’s skilled workforce at the annual 2011 SkillsUSA National Championships, June 21-24, in Kansas City, MO. This is the tenth consecutive year that Sandvik Coromant has participated in the Precision Machining Technology Championships.

SkillsUSA is a national, nonprofit organization consisting of students, teachers, and professionals that work together to ensure America has a skilled work force. The National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) coordinates the Precision Machining Technology and CNC championships based on NIMS Levels I and II Machining Skill Standards. Beginning at a local level, the contests continue through to state and national levels. These competitions are designed to showcase the best career and technical students in the nation.

Sandvik Coromant, among other key industry supporters, will play a key role in organizing, judging, and managing the separate contests. Sandvik Coromant will provide the necessary tooling for the contestants to use during the competition.
