Mori Seiki's 2010 Innovation of Americas Call for Entries

Mori Seiki's 2010 Innovation of the Americas contest will showcase new and original parts designed and machined in North, Central and South America.

Mori Seiki is pleased to announce the call for entries for the 2010 Innovation of the Americas contest. This marks the third biennial cutting contest sponsored by the company; the inaugural contest was in 2006.

The Innovation of the Americas contest is designed to recognize the machinist who demonstrates the highest level of innovation in part design and manufacturing. The contest is open to all individuals, companies, schools and research institutes in North, Central and South America that perform cutting operations on a CNC machine tool.

Submissions are being accepted in four categories: Aircraft/Aerospace, Automotive, Die/Mold/Artistic and General/Tool/Toy. Entries are judged based on creativity in design, expertise in programming and excellence in machine skill and operation.

Based on the importance the company places on recognizing skilled workers, Mori Seiki has enhanced the prize package for this year’s event. The four first place category winners will receive a cash prize of $2,500; Second place winners will receive $1,000. All entrants will receive an invitation to attend the awards ceremony to take place on Thursday, September 16, 2010.

Judging will take place over the course of the summer, and winners will be announced at IMTS 2010. Winning entries will be displayed for the duration of IMTS in the Mori Seiki booth (S-8900).

For submission instructions and to enter online, please visit www.moriseikius.com/IofA. Though the number of entries is unlimited, all entries must be received by Mori Seiki USA no later than July 9, 2010.
