HUMMINGBIRD Paracube at heart of Intermed Inter 7 Plus

A neonatal, paediatric and adult lung ventilator that supplies an electronically controlledair and oxygen mixture to patients, the Inter 7 Plus offers advanced mechanical ventilation that combines high flexibility of use with low maintenance and operating costs. As a market leader in Brazil with growing export presence, it was crucial for Intermed that the Inter 7 Plus design should use an oxygen sensor that offered exceptional levels of reliability and accuracy: Paracube not only delivers this via the sensor’s patent Paramagnetic technology, it also eliminates daily calibration due to excellent measurement stability and a non-consumable design that means zero ongoing cost of ownership.

“Sensor capability was obviously crucial to which sensor we would use, as all components for the Inter 7 Plus are selected for optimum performance,” says Lisa Iwata, marketing manager, Intermed. “For the oxygen measurement, HUMMINGBIRD’s paramagnetic sensors offered the accuracy and the fast response that we were looking for.”

In addition to the non-depleting design, the Paracube offers full ROHS compliance. This not only meets many regional legislative requirements it also insuresagainst costly redesign, where compliance is currently non-mandatory and potentially subject to legislative change - therefore securing excellent long-term cost-of-ownership.
