Due to rising material costs, PBC Linear made the decision to switch manufacturing of the Flange Mount Die Set housings from steel to aluminum in order to prevent further increases in prices to our customers. Currently, PBC is manufacturing the bearings in both steel and aluminum. Steel is considered the premium product and their prices have increased. Effective January 1, 2011, PBC will cease mass production of the steel version. The aluminum material will be the company’s standard bearing.

We understand that some customers may prefer the steel over the aluminum; however, after January 1, 2011 steel will be considered a custom bearing. You will have to consult the factory for price and lead time.
Until January 1, 2011, please use the new part numbering system created to differentiate the two materials. Please see below.
