InventHelp, America’s largest inventor service company, announces that one of its clients, an inventor from California, has designed an accessory that would cover the bell and diaphragm of a stethoscope. This invention is patented.
The “Bell & Diaphragm Disposable Cover” stretchable cover would slip over the end of the stethoscope. After examining each patient, a user would then throw out the accessory. The unit would help to prevent the bell and diaphragm from coming into direct contact with the patient. Additionally, the protective barrier would prevent blood, debris and germs from coming in contact with the bell and diaphragm.
The Bell & Diaphragm Disposable Cover conical cover would be composed of natural rubber latex, synthetic later, synthetic rubber or guayule latex, as well as powder, coagulants and color dyes. The cover would include a lip cover and a concave base and feature a flat top. A circular spiral around the base of the cover would help it to stretch over the stethoscope and prevent the rubber from tearing. To put on the accessory, a user would hold the cover by the lip with two fingers from the left hand and two fingers from the right hand. A user would then stretch the lip until the opening is large enough to fit over the stethoscope and then place one side of the lip on the bell or diaphragm. Once on, the cover would automatically slide over the bell or stethoscope snugly all around the perimeter of the bell or stethoscope. To remove, a user would hold the stethoscope by the bell or diaphragm comfortably in one hand and with the other hand hold the lip of the cover and pull it diagonally outward and away from the stethoscope, stretching the cover so that the opening will slide off. Next, a user would slowly take off the cover and dispose of it in a garbage can. If there is contamination, dispose in a biohazard container. The Bell & Diaphragm Disposable Cover could be producible in various colors, shapes and sizes.
