The latest NC Software Market Analysis Report from leading US analysts CIMdata shows that Delcam continues to be the world’s largest specialist supplier of CAM software and services. Delcam employs over 700 staff, over 100 people more than Vero Software, and more than twice the 292 employees at third-placed Cimatron.
The CIMdata Report also confirmed that Delcam continues to employ by far the largest development team in the industry, with 224 people working on the company’s manufacturing software. This is almost 50% more developers than the 150 staff employed in development by the second-ranked company, Vero Software.
On the sales side, CIMdata found that Delcam was again able to increase its market share in terms of direct revenue. The company’s share of vendor direct revenues grew from 7.3% in 2012 to 7.7% in 2013. A further increase in market share to 8.1% is predicted by CIMdata for Delcam in 2014.
In addition, Delcam’s PowerMILL family of software was reported to remain as the best-selling specialist machining brand by direct revenue.
2014 promises to be another important year for Delcam after Autodesk, Inc. completed its acquisition of the company on February 6th. Delcam now operates as a wholly-owned, independently-operated subsidiary of Autodesk.
