The Jackson (MI) Area Manufacturers Association ran a networking event, which was sponsored by Allegiance Health and The Enterprise Group.
"The companies left there with opportunities," JAMA's Executive Director Bill Rayl says. "That should open up some pretty interesting doors."
The four presenters from GE Healthcare, CJPS Enterprises, Premier Inc. and VHA Inc. discussed how their operations work and what they are looking for, and then they met one-on-one with local suppliers.
Rayl said GE's representative, Michael Lucas, told him he found five or six companies that had what he was seeking.
"We're now on his radar screen," he says.
Dick Johnson, owner of Contour Tool & Machine says the breakfast was productive and he was grateful to the groups for putting it on.
Johnson says he came away with one solid contact and is interested in supplying his cutting tools to other companies that will produce medical devices.
"I'm just trying to break out into another niche," he states.
