Columbus, Ohio – Officials from The Industrial Diamond Association of America (IDA) announce an education course, Superabrasive Materials, Principles & Applications, running Nov. 17 & 18, 2015. The event is hosted by YG-I America at their advanced manufacturing center located at 11001 Park Charlotte Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28273-8860.
The expanded two-day course is available for $500 with one full day dedicated to grinding and one on machining. Attendees can choose just one day of the two-day course for$275.
Through technical sessions and live demonstrations attendees will learn about:
- Proper machining and grinding techniques
- Tool/wheel preparation and properties of diamond and cubic boron nitride used to finish exotic materials such as ceramics, superalloys, high silicon aluminum, cermets, glass, metal matrix composites, carbon-carbon composites, bi-metals, hardened steel, stainless steel
- Other difficult to work materials for components in aerospace, automotive, medical and other manufacturing-focused industries
