More than 1,400 manufacturers from North and Central America attended its “Your Manufacturing Future? Refocus, Rediscover and Reinvent” event, which took place at its headquarters campus in Florence, KY. Also known as ‘R3,’ the three-day event introduced new technology and provided innovative strategies to help American manufacturers achieve success.
"We really believed that the manufacturing community would respond strongly to an event focused on positioning themselves for future growth," says Brian Papke, president, Mazak Corporation. “Our expectations for R3 were already high and we’re absolutely thrilled to have them exceeded. A lot of manufacturers are recognizing that the market has changed and evolution toward a new level of manufacturing productivity is required for continued manufacturing success.”
Attendees to R3 sat in on a wide variety of seminars, covering topics including automation, MT Connect, multi-tasking, probing and advanced tooling technologies. Manufacturers of tooling, workholding and automation products partnered with Mazak to provide attendees with a comprehensive perspective on optimizing their operations. Mazak Corporation also demonstrated how its commitment to the “ Production-On-Demand” concept along with its continued investment in new technology has allowed the company to be competitive in North America.
In addition to informational seminars, attendees of the R3 event had the opportunity to witness productivity demonstrations on newly introduced machine technologies. Among the 24 featured machines were the QUICK TURN SMART 200 and 350, the first machines in an affordable new series ideal for high production runs, and the VT-20. Designed in the US at the Kentucky Headquarters for the reliable, innovative production of valve components, the patent pending Mazak VT-20 represented one of the most unique machines introduced at the event.
