Morris Group, Inc. Names Executive Technology Advisor

Morris Group, Inc. announces the appointment of Dr. Bert P. Erdel as Executive Technology Advisor.  Dr. Erdel will work in close liaison with leading manufacturers that utilize advanced manufacturing technology. He also will assist in the sourcing, developing and marketing of new technologies.

Dr. Bert Erdel holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering and economics as well as a Ph.D. in engineering.  Most recently he has served as Aerospace Technology Advisor for DMG and Group President of Ingersoll Cutting Tools.  Previously, Dr. Erdell had been Chief Executive Officer of MAPAL, a leading manufacturer of precision reaming, fine boring, and PCD tools for the automotive and transportation industries.  Early is his career, Dr. Erdel was Chief Executive Officer of United States operations for Scharmann, a German machine tool manufacturer of horizontal machining centers and boring mills widely used by aerospace and automotive manufacturers.

Dr. Erdel is the author of several industry texts including High Speed Machining and New Dimensions in Manufacturing, as well as numerous scholarly papers.  He is also a guest lecturer at several universities and a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and the Society of Automotive Engineers.
