Opsens Launches New Miniature Pressure Sensor

Opsens Inc. has launched OPP-M25, the smallest micro-electrical-mechanical systems (MEMS)-based optical pressure sensor available to the life sciences and medical devices industry.

The new MEMS-based optical pressure sensor measures 0.25 mm OD, which is much smaller than 1 French (0.33 mm) on the catheter scale. The new offering delivers reliable and accurate pressure measurement in cardiovascular and other critical applications where miniaturization is key to product utility. Small size provides for less invasive catheterization practices, which enables new practices that were not possible with conventional blood pressure measurement systems.

Opsens' unique expertise provides the capabilities to develop state-of-the-art fiber optic sensing solutions for the medical industry. The company's ability to deliver new solutions has been repeatedly demonstrated to international partners with innovative and effective product formulations.
