The Texas Emerging Technology Fund is awarding Patton Surgical a $3 million award for the commercialization of its surgical methods.
The Austin-based company has developed a a minimally invasive approach for abdomen surgery that delivers less pain, less scarring and allows for faster patient recovery, according to a press release.
Patton Surgical said it will use the funding to expand nationally and internationally from its current Texas/Southwest U.S. focus.
The Texas Emerging Technology Fund is a state program to help with development and commercialization of new technologies.
