The recent and dramatic imposition of US tariffs on foreign-made parts has caused a near panic among some of the companies looking to replace offshore suppliers with domestic manufacturing. The companies’ goal is to cause the least amount of disruption in product delivery while supporting quality requirements during the transition to a domestic supplier. Plas-Tech Engineering Inc, has been offering a uniquely developed range of high-quality injection molded parts for medical devices and diverse industry applications (all manufacturing facilities are FDA registered and ISO 13485 certified) in low to medium volumes, for more than 30 years. And reshoring is not a new concept to them.
For example, Plas-Tech Engineering’s medical-based quality system attracted a client in the aeronautical parts industry due to the critical importance of excessive color changes and subtle aesthetics in their market. Visual and functional quality could not be compromised. Although the customer had molds built in China, the Plas-Tech Engineering, in-house tool room has continuously supported a variety of these molds with repairs and services, ensuring uninterrupted production throughout the entire period.
Recently recognized by the Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce Association as the Manufacturer of the Year 2024 among the Medium Category nominees, Plas-Tech Engineering has experienced substantial sales and operational growth due to “their superiority in technological advances, product development, sustainability and financial gains.” The award underscores Plas-Tech Engineering’s proven capabilities and systems, assuring those needing a reshoring partner of a ready, trouble-free, and cost-efficient transfer for their CMO needs.
To facilitate customers’ growing needs for manufacturing capacity and accommodate reshoring business, Plas-Tech Engineering is currently adding more automation and robotics machinery throughout their plant. They have just completed the construction of an attached warehouse for storage of raw materials and finished parts that are ready for shipment. Plans have already been completed for an additional building to house increased capacity for advanced manufacturing.
