PolyOne Corporation is unveiling numerous technology platforms and biopolymer solutions that are formulated to help customers drive value and enhance global competitiveness.
Announcements will be made during NPE 2009 and will include a wide range of innovative solutions that can improve customers’ ability to win business, differentiate products, and reduce systems cost, such as:
- Resound biopolymer compounds for durable applications
PolyOne launches its revolutionary new Resound family of biopolymer compounds that enhance the performance of bio-based materials to achieve previously unobtainable levels of heat and impact performance. - Edgetek XT high performance blends – BPA-free
The first grades in this new line blend BPA-free Eastman Tritan copolyester with ABS for enhanced chemical resistance, strength and durability in consumer, healthcare and electronics applications. - Versaflex BIO thermoplastic elastomers
Up to 70% renewable content with no loss of performance. Offering designers and manufacturers new options for creating products that reduce environmental impact and appeal to eco-conscious consumers. - Geon Vinyl Compounds with metallic special effects
New grades of metallic pre-colored compounds help designers optimize aesthetics while eliminating environmentally unfriendly and costly painting operations. - ECCOH Compounds for optical fiber applications
New grades for wire and cable sheathing following the trend in telecommunications for optical fiber in the home by offering non-halogenated flame retardance along with low smoke and low toxicity. - Smartbatch WPC for natural fiber composites
Patent-pending colorant and additive formulations enhance the performance of natural post-consumer recycle fibers, such as rice hulls, cardboard, or other cellulosic materials.
Examples of these and other new products will be exhibited at PolyOne’s booth, where visitors can also take a look at the BRP (Bombardier Recreational Products) Spyder Can-Am Roadster, a cutting edge three-wheeled cycle. PolyOne Distribution joined forces with BRP to select materials and design every plastic part on the vehicle, and the end result shows how PolyOne collaborates with customers to drive success in the marketplace.
