Rick Valencia, vice president and general manager of Qualcomm Life Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Inc. is the keynote speaker for INNO-VENTION 2013 – a Medical Main Street Conference.
The conference, set for Nov. 6-8, 2013, at the Troy Marriott Hotel, focuses on how information technology is fueling changes in health care and its impact on the next generation of medical devices.
Valencia is responsible for day-to-day operations of the San Diego-based company as well as leading Qualcomm Life’s product development and technology strategy in the wireless health market. Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson said attracting a speaker such as Valencia was a coup for INNO-VENTION 2013 and Medical Main Street.
“This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in mHealth to hear from one of the leaders in the field,” Patterson states.
The Mobile Technology Association of Michigan was instrumental in securing Valencia for the conference.
“Due to changes in the health care environment and the aging of the baby boomer population, mHealth is becoming an increasingly critical component to providing quality health care,” says Linda Daichendt, MTAM executive director. “We believe Michigan has the ability to be on the forefront of these efforts.”
