Verathon Inc. and traffic software and hardware maker United Toll Services are being bought by Roper Industries Inc. for a combined $356 million.
Verathon, which is based in Bothell, WA, makes an ultrasound scanner called BladderScan, which is used to provide bladder volume measurements, and GlideScope, a small camera in a tube that allows doctors to view a patient's larynx, and insert feeding or breathing tubes more successfully.
United Toll Services is based in Montgomery, AL, and makes toll and traffic software and hardware.
Roper said the deals will bring more than $140 million in revenue and at least $38 million in earnings prior to interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization in 2010. The company reported $2.31 billion in revenue in 2008.
