Sonora Medical Systems, the world's leading supplier of after market products, training, ISO certified ultrasound probe repair, system support services, and test equipment to the medical imaging market, is pleased to announce that its advanced development probe engineering team has achieved 100% repair capability for the most complex of all ultrasound probes - the pediatric transesophageal (TEE) probe. Because these probes are used on the smallest of all cardiac patients, newborns, they must be scaled down versions of the complex but more common adult TEE probes and represent true engineering marvels. The 100% repairable pediatric TEE probes include the Philips HP21381A, Siemens/Acuson V7M, the General Electric 8T, and the Philips S7-3t.
"Because of their small size and the complexity of their construction these probes presented our team with significant mechanical and electrical engineering challenges during the development effort. Sonora's corporate vision of reducing the cost of healthcare in this country by offering our valued customers repair rather than replacement options means that we will tackle even the most complex products on the market. Coupled with our probe test devices such as the iTest™ and FirstCall aPerio™, as well as our TD-100™ automated TEE probe disinfecting station, the addition of the 100% pediatric TEE probe repair capability completes our SafeTEE™ TEE life-cycle offering that will dramatically lower the cost to hospitals for maintaining these expensive probes. As a Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography I have spent a good deal of my career in the pediatric cardiology setting and know how valuable these probes are from a clinical perspective. They are also very expensive probes and can be a real burden on hospital budgets when they fail and need to be replaced. With our new 100% repair option we are positioned to save our customers thousands of dollars on every transaction." says G. Wayne Moore, president and CEO of Sonora Medical Systems.
