The MD+CELL from MC Machinery Systems Inc. is a combination of the MD+PROII wire EDM and a Suprema DX44 waterjet, delivers high-speed and precise manufacturing in one automated unit. These technologies work closely together to minimize operator intervention and maximize unattended run time for piece-part manufacturers, such as how the MD+CELL utilizes a Mitsubishi MELFA 6-axis robot to transfer rough cut pieces from the waterjet to be finished on the EDM.
While the Suprema waterjet includes an all-stainless steel work tank and utilizes 22" I-beam construction with 40mm ballscrews for accuracy and performance, it also has the Mitsubishi 700 Series CNC control to deliver advanced programming capabilities for high-precision machining. The MD+PROII wire EDM’s stacked-filter design reduces floor space requirements by 20% while the machine’s upper- and lower-head design improves durability and reduces setup and maintenance costs. Coming standard with 0.004" to 0.012" wire capable automatic threading and all-axis absolute control, highly accurate positioning without returning to zero after power failure is achieved. The simplified auto-threading and wire-drive systems reduce part costs and extend maintenance cycles.
