US Med-Equip Achieves ISO 9001:2008 Certification

Designation reflects commitment to quality management, says company vice president.

Officials at US Med-Equip Inc. announce that the company has received ISO 9001:2008 certification for its medical equipment management processing system, confirming their commitment to quality services and products.

“This ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Certification assures our manufacturer partners and hospital customers –both domestically and internationally –we are committed to the highest standards of quality services and output,” says Greg Salario, co-founder and vice president of business development for US Med-Equip. “This demonstration to consistently meet customer requirements illustrates US Med-Equip’s focus on ISO principles of quality management such as customer focus, continuous improvement, leadership, and involvement of people at all levels of the organization in the quality process.”

Known in the industry for technology-based systems that provide fast, efficient asset management systems to hospitals, US Med-Equip sought the ISO designation to illustrate to current and prospective clients how committed the company is to providing consistent quality and client satisfaction.

“The ISO 9001:2008 certification solidifies US Med-Equip’s position as a leader in the highly competitive hospital market for equipment sales and rentals,” says Gurmit Bhatia, US Med Equip’s co-founder and president. “We have always strived to provide the best product and service in the industry, this certification proves that we are committed to that process.”

Steve DuMenil, US Med-Equip’s director of risk management, also notes that the ISO 9001:2008 certification is a competitive advantage because many hospitals and manufacturers are requiring their department directors to only conduct business with vendors that have quality controls and standardization implemented within their organization.

“Hospitals have worked hard to be JCAHO credentialed for years; they want to work with companies that share that same level of quality management,” DuMenil says. “US Med-Equip is fortunate enough to have established relationships with customers who trust us because of our proven ability to fulfill our mission of taking care of a patient in need when providing medical equipment to hospitals.”

The ISO 9000 family of standards designates systems displaying quality management processes to ensure that products and services consistently meet customer’s requirements and that quality is improved. It’s based on established quality management principles.
