
ACSYS Lasertechnik announces a pioneering innovation with its patent-pending, ultra-short pulse All-In-One quick-change laser system for marking, engraving, and cutting for medical device applications.
This All-In-One quick-change laser system, using a galvanometer scanner equipped with either f-theta marking optics or a laser cutting head, provides fully interchangeable flexibility and the highest levels of precision. When in marking mode, this superior system can perform corrosion-free laser marking on stainless-steel devices for unique device identification (UDI) markings on medical devices or instruments assuring compliance with medical standards. It’s also ideal for deep black marking such that the color and contrast of the mark is independent of the viewing angle. High-contrast white surface markings, which are easily read, can be produced reliably on glass or sapphire surfaces.
The All-In-One also features quick, burr-free laser engraving that delivers the highest surface quality by utilizing ultrashort pulse lasers. This sets it apart from other longer pulsed systems because it enables functional microstructures on a wide variety of materials and the finest 3D laser engravings.
In cutting mode, the cutting head replaces the galvanometer scanning f-theta lens without having to remove the galvanometer head itself. This negates the need for two separate systems where cutting and engraving operations are required on the same part. This innovative laser system optimizes the cutting joint in a targeted manner with no burrs and minimal thermal influence. Its unique design enables the galvanometer mirror to perform an oscillating movement within the cutting nozzle during cutting interpolation to ensure a targeted effect on the cutting joint.
