HSSE Steel Color-Coded Taps
HSSE ring taps are available in standard sizes and simplify the process of selecting the right tool for tapping specific materials. Based on the tap design, most color ring taps can handle several materials with successful results. Special designs are available to suit specific applications.
Each of the six color ring taps – black, white, yellow, green, blue, and red – are manufactured with application-specific geometry and design criteria based on characteristics and hardness range of various part materials. The taps are manufactured with HSSE premium high-speed steel for increased tap life in challenging materials.
Available tap styles are spiral point, spiral flute, form taps, straight flute die cast, and taps for cast iron.
