Knaebel IET built-in transducer

Euro-Tech Corporation will spotlight the Knäbel IET built-in transducer at IMTS – The International Manufacturing Technology Show 2012, being held at Chicago’s McCormick Place September 8-13.  This innovation will be showcased at IMTS in Booth W-2453, which is located in the Tooling & Workholding Systems Pavilion in the West Building.

In the past, indirect methods were often used when checking bores, grooves and the distances between very narrow surfaces and their reference planes. These methods necessitated complicated lever systems or pneumatic procedures, since all known electronic length transducers could not be positioned directly at the measuring point. Today the IET transducer, an inductive built-in transducer of ultra-compact size, can be directly positioned in the measuring plane.

The IET built-in transducer has a size of only 5 x 5 x 15mm with measuring ranges of +/- 0.2 and +/- 0.4 mm.  Direct measurement of both deep and shallow bores, grooves, and a host of other difficult gaging applications are now possible because of its ultra-compact size. It is composed of a basic body equipped with a coil system and spring-loaded rocker carrying the sensing element. The design of the rocker offers a great variety of measuring capabilities including medical device OEM’s. The sensing elements range from hard metal over ruby and silicium nitride to silicium carbide. It is free from mechanical friction and hysteresis making it suitable for highly dynamic measuring tasks.

Use this tiny workhorse to solve your toughest gaging problems; simplifying situations thought to be impossibly complicated in the past. The IET is available as a stand-alone element or complete design and build service.
