Introducing the next generation of medical diagnostic adhesives, Mactac has expanded its Response Diagnostic Tapes product line, offering the cleanest tapes available for medical diagnostic applications.
The line expansion includes 10 new acrylic adhesive tapes that are manufactured with the latest evolution in adhesive coating – ultra-clean, solvent-free, 100% solids UV curing technology.
“This technology produces the cleanest adhesive polymers possible,” says Steve Schroff, sr. technical marketing engineer, Mactac Performance Adhesives. “To gain a competitive edge in manufacturing, we exited solvent coating and transitioned our acrylic adhesives to UV technology. In doing so, we were able to leap ahead of our competitors in the diagnostic space and provide the cleanest and most inert non-VOC, non-outgassing, and non-migratory adhesives possible, while increasing productivity through more efficient manufacturing.”
Along with delivering industry-leading low levels of outgassing and migration, Mactac Response adhesives offer excellent optical properties and adhesion performance, typical of traditional solvent acrylics. They feature precise deposition control, compatibility with many assays chemistries and a wide temperature range, making them ideal for diagnostic device applications such as:
- Lateral flow assays
- Microfluidic diagnostics
- Titer plates
- Lab-on-a-chip cell collection for microwells

- PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests

Response Diagnostic Tapes are available in a range of standard and custom-coated options, including free film, single-coated and double-coated product constructions with various liner, face, adhesive or coat weight configurations. They have a two-year shelf life.
