MicroCare’s Duraglide dry lubricant
MicroCare Medical, a division of MicroCare Corp., will be presenting its range of products at MD&M West in Anaheim, California, Feb. 5-7, 2019.
Duraglide dry lubricant helps improve the operation of medical devices. Medical-grade dry lubricants that enable optimal device performance are critical. Devices are becoming more intricate and complex in their design with multi-part mechanical assemblies. This increases the problem of friction slowing down the assembly process and reducing the operation of the finished device.
Using PTFE particles, the non-migrating and fast-drying fluid leaves a smooth, slippery, even coating on any surface, necessary for medical devices featuring moving, sliding, or rotating surfaces
ISO 10993-certified for easy validation, Duraglide is versatile and compatible with most metals and plastics, can penetrate complex shapes, improving performance of finished devices, is hostile to bioburden, and meets with the sterilization process.
Used in a variety of applications – including catheters, cutting tools, staplers, and hypo tubes – Duraglide has the capacity to lubricate assemblies that slide, pivot, or twist, eliminating stiction and improving actuation.
Available as a ready-to-use lubricant in a drum or pail package, or as an aerosol spray or lube spray, Duraglide Dry Lubricant is a premium low-cost, non-migrating, pyrogenically-inert coating solution.
Also on display will be the line of carrier fluids used for the safe and effective deposition of silicone, PTFE lubricant and other pharmaceutical coatings onto medical devices. These non-flammable, fast drying and low Global Warming Potential (GWP) fluids are good replacements for nPB and TCE. Available in numerous concentrations and packages, they are ideal for high production volume coating of parts.
