NMV5000 PROVIDES UNPARALLELED 5-AXIS VERTICAL MACHINING

Mori Seiki's NMV5000 DCG combines the best of Mori Seiki's design innovations to provide unparalleled 5-axis vertical machining of complex parts. Direct-Drive Motors (DDM) on the B and C axes improve transmission efficiency and high-speed feed rates.

Additionally, the NMV5000 DCG makes use of MAPPS III, the latest release of Mori Seiki's highly successful control system. MAPPS III allows fast processing and is equipped with a collision avoidance function that monitors machine movements in real time. The control supports conversational input and provides high-speed canned cycles for dramatic increases in programming speed.

Engineered from the viewpoint of workpieces and tools, Mori Seiki's NL Series of lathes focuses on increasing rigidity and minimizing thermal displacement as a means of improving precision and productivity. Like all machines in the NL Series, the NL2500SY reduces vibration by employing rigid triangular structures in the bed, spindle and tailstock. The box way construction further reduces vibration and increases rigidity, resulting in greater cutting depth and feed rates, and reducing cycle times by up to 50%.

Boasting continuous machining and dual-process with a programmable Y-axis control, the NL2500SY handles parts up to 14.0 in. diameter, and 27.7 in. length. The lathe is in the 10 in. chuck size class and supports a maximum bar diameter of 3.1in. Additionally, the inclusion of 4.0 in. of Y-axis movement serves to further extend flexibility with off-center machining.
