Live demonstrations of Allied Machine & Engineering Corp.'s new Revolution Drill will run during the 2009 WESTEC show at the Los Angeles Convention Center, March 30 through April 2. The innovative replaceable cartridge design allows for adjustability of up to 0.200" (5.1 mm) on diameter, eliminating the need for specials and/or subsequent boring operations. The product is available in diameters from 1.875" to 4.0", and lengths up to 4.5x diameter.
Live demonstrations will also include Allied's Opening Drill, a tool designed to enlarge existing holes, even on low horsepower machines. This product consists of a diameter range of 2.00" to 5.62" and drill holders in 1x to 2.5x depth to diameter ratios. The drill holders are available with replaceable, adjustable cartridges. The proprietary insert is offered in AM200 and TiN coating as stocked standards. The Opening Drill allows for large amounts of material removal with only one pass.
New this year from Allied Machine & Engineering Corp. is the BT-A Drill Replaceable Tip Single Tube BTA Tool.
This product introduces T-A replaceable tip technology to the BTA deep hole drilling market. The design uses Allied's T-A drilling system inserts, including GEN2 T-A to maximize penetration rates and tool life. The product works with standard BTA single tube designs to flush the spent coolant and chips through the tool. The T-A drill insert is replaceable, so there is no need to regrind, and balanced cutting offers increased feed rates.
Allied will also exhibit and/or demonstrate a number of other products from their lineup.
