The L.S. Starrett Company will be featuring metrology and force measurement solutions with automation capabilities, as well as a wide range of precision measuring tools and gages at MD&M West in booth #4530.
The Starrett HDV300 horizontal digital video comparator combines the best features of vision and optical comparator technology. The HDV300 has a uniquely designed interchangeable lens mounting system, go/no-go digital overlay capability directly from part CAD files, real-time video edge detection, and more. Video edge detection allows real-time interaction of the imported file with the video image of the part being inspected.
Also demonstrated will be the compact Starrett AVR CNC automatic vision metrology system, ideal for repetitive measurement and automatic comparison to CAD files, and available with interchangeable telecentric lenses for micron-level resolution and accurate field-of-view (FOV) measurements. MetLogix M3 software capabilities include 3-axis measurements and 2D geometric constructs (points, lines, angles, rectangles), and the systems are touch probe compatible. The Starrett HB400 horizontal benchtop optical comparator will also be displayed. The HB400 has a 16" screen, 16" fast traverse X-axis travel, 6” Y-axis travel, quick change bayonet mount lenses, Q-axis digital protractor with angular measurements to 1 minute resolution, and the choice of MetLogix Digital Metrology readouts, M1, M2, & M3 software control systems and optional CNC control.
A range of Starrett force measurement systems will also be featured including Starrett DFC digital handheld force gages. The DFC series is a revolutionary concept for force measurement via a handheld force gage. The DFC may be used as an advanced digital force gage and controller with Starrett FMM force testers, and can serve as a universal interface where the user tests and can configure load limits, distance limits, break limits, crosshead travel direction, crosshead speed, and more.
Starrett FMM frame force testers, which are compact and ideal for high volume, lean manufacturing production, will also be on display. L1 software, ideal for quality control and incoming inspection, and engineered to meet the requirements for fast, efficient, high-volume production testing, will be demonstrated on the FMM frames. Also shown on an FMM frame, L3 software is optimal for users involved with material testing and characterization, research and design engineers, quality control and test technicians, and others.
Among the force measurement demonstrations will be a newly designed rotary table spring force tester. The system automatically tests multiple springs in a single setup without the need for additional operator input as required if springs are tested one by one. The rotary table spring force tester features L2 Plus software, providing an easy-to-use, yet comprehensive solution for complex force analysis and measurement.
