Cincinnati, Ohio – Technical Equipment will showcase the latest wire EDM and CNC machine tools from Makino and Tsugami at the 2015 Advanced Manufacturing Technology Show (AMTS) in Dayton, Ohio Oct. 21 -22.
Makino’s U3 H.E.A.T. (High Energy Applied Technology) wire EDM machine features a split precision V-guide wire system, 4-sided worktable, and the lowest wire consumption in the industry. Like the Makino U3, the U3 H.E.A.T. has five programmable axes.
“This machine is fast, reliable and requires very little maintenance,” Technical Equipment President Lou Olson said. “It was designed to be user friendly and we’re looking forward to showing operators how easy it is to run.”
Two Tsugami machines will make their first AMTS appearances this year.
The S206 LaserSwiss is the world’s first machine that completely integrates a laser cutting system with a Swiss-style CNC lathe. “All laser cutting operations are programmed and driven from the machine’s Fanuc 32i-D control,” Olson said. “Operators can perform traditional machining and laser cutting with one part setup and a single NC program. This has never been done before, and the shops using this machine are seeing incredible cycle time reductions.”
The M08SY, also new to the AMTS, is a heavy duty CNC Turning Center with a back spindle and Y axis that holds up to 12 live tools. It is ideal for milling, drilling, cross-drilling, and boring. At 13,000 lb, it’s the heaviest machine in its class, yet its footprint is surprisingly small, measuring just eight feet long by six feet wide.
“Manufacturers are always trying to maximize floor space, reduce cycle time, and improve part quality,” Olson said. “Machines like the M08SY, U3 H.E.A.T, and the LaserSwiss can help them achieve those goals.”
Technical Equipment will be located at booth 618. Admission is free for attendees. Exhibits are open Wed., Oct. 21, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Thurs., Oct. 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
